We can't afford books. Is my child being left out?
During the Book Fair we share many of the books as read-alouds with all the children. We also use money raised from the Book Fair to buy books that all children may check out from the library.
Miss Kay's story: I grew up loving books. The Book Fair was one of my favorite times of year, even though I never bought a book. My family just didn't have enough money. But I loved looking at all the new books. I thought Book Fairs were so much fun! I knew that when the Book Fair was over, my librarian would buy many of those books and put them on our library shelves so I could read them. I hope my students feel the same love and excitement for new books, and I look forward to purchasing their favorites to add to our library.
